Subject: FW: Interview Request on Future of Social Data, with students this Tuesday @ 3:15pm (FR: SHAUN TAI Films, 925.297.9370)

Hey,
this Tuesday afternoon is your chance to get on youtube.com/socialdatarevolution. The creators and curators of the chancel, Shaun and Linda, would like to interview a few students about their views on future of social data BEFORE OUR LAST CLASS. (BTW, you met Shaun and Linda of ODALC.org when they came to the class with Tom Glocer and Mike Sha.)
Set-up is at 3pm and filming is from 3:15pm to 4pm. (What would be a nice setting? Shaun suggests the classical Main Quad, I am wondering whether in front of the new GSB display would be cool or too far from class?)
Believing in collaboration, please use the wiki page http://stanford2011.wikispaces.com/VIDEO+Interviews

Please fill out:
  • Who is available when (might make sense to two batches, just write down when you can make it)
  • What are awesome questions that will make you shine?
For starters, Shaun asked a few good ones below, but I trust in your creativity to come up with some amazing ones. Here are some categories:

Andreas' suggestions

  • Who we are (self-expression, identity, and privacy) <-- What role does facebook play in your identity?
  • How we interact (social technologies) <-- How do you get work done? What tools do you use now? What tools would you love to have for collaboration and coordination?
  • How we decide (behavioral economics)
  • Why we share (incentives, future of work)
And PLEASE don’t hesitate to hit me up with any questions you might have!
Thanks
Andreas

Dear Andreas,

We will be at Stanford this Tuesday (May 31st) and would love to talk to some of the students in your class.

Shaun's initial questions

  • Why, in their eyes, is the Social Data Revolution important?
  • What is the impact of SDR on them as individuals, as students, as consumers?
  • How did it change their relationships with friends, employers, employees, strangers, girlfriends/boyfriends, ex-girlfriends/boyfriends?
  • What are their dreams, what do they want to do with their lives, and how has this been shaped by social data?
In short, want to capture their visions about the future of social data.
Can you please invite a few who would have something interesting to contribute?
We would like to do the filming before your class, 3:15PM– 4:00PM, at a location of your choice - perhaps the center of main quad? We then would like to come to class but need to leave at 5:30 PM sharp for an event in San Francisco.

Thank you for your help, Andreas!

Cheers,
Shaun
